An entrepreneur for over 48+ years, Paul Tovar founded TxCDC in 1981. In his role as chairman of the board and CDC Manager, Paul assists in developing new financial resources, marketing TxCDC’ s financial programs and representing the company to private and public entities.

Prior to founding TxCDC, Paul worked as a pharmacist, eventually owning a pharmacy, health care facilities, insurance companies and business service companies. He has been actively involved in local and statewide community development initiatives and is a past chair of the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Paul has a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Texas at Austin and has completed post-graduate work in long-term health care administration, real estate, banking and business.

Paul’s life-long passion has always been promoting good health. The vision he shares with everyone he meets is the creation of a community that is healthier in mind, body and spirit. Although Paul has built-in radar for donut shops, his teachings are of a more balanced diet philosophy. His search for knowledge has taken him globally, and his pursuit to educate has taken him into many strangers’ — now friends’ — homes.
